Enfield Utility Corridor
Trenching, ducting and reinstatement for a new utility corridor serving a residential-led regeneration scheme in North London.
Project Overview
Inhire was engaged to open, install and reinstate a utility corridor across a mixed-use development site in Enfield. The works included trenching for electrical and telecoms ducting, plus coordination with the statutory undertaker.
Scope of Works
- Excavation of service trenches along the adopted route
- Supply and laying of electrical and telecoms ducting
- Sand bedding, warning tape and backfill
- Asphalt and block-paved reinstatement
Project Challenges
The corridor crossed several live access roads and required careful traffic management. Existing services were dense and needed hand-digging in places to avoid strikes.
Our Solution
We produced a phased traffic management plan, used vacuum excavation at conflict points and carried out reinstatement in short sections to restore access quickly.
Results
The utility corridor was installed and reinstated without service strikes or disruption to the surrounding development.
