A reputable engineering consultancy in London Job Description: Our client, a respected engineering consultancy in London, is seeking a Structural Engineer to design and analyze structural systems for their construction projects. This role is critical in ensuring the safety, stability, and integrity of buildings and structures while adhering to industry standards and best practices.

Responsibilities

– Design and analyze structural systems for various types of buildings and structures, including residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects – Perform structural calculations and modeling using advanced engineering software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, ROBOT) – Prepare detailed structural drawings, specifications, and technical reports in accordance with industry standards and building codes – Collaborate with architects, MEP engineers, and other disciplines to ensure the integration of structural systems into the overall building design – Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing conditions and identify potential structural issues or challenges – Develop and implement strategies for structural repair, reinforcement, or retrofitting, as required – Ensure compliance with relevant building codes, standards (e.g., Eurocodes, ASCE), and local regulations – Provide technical guidance and support to project teams during the construction phase, addressing any structural-related queries or concerns – Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in structural engineering, materials, and construction techniques

Requirements

– Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or Structural Engineering (or equivalent experience) – Proven experience as a Structural Engineer, with a strong background in structural analysis and design – In-depth knowledge of structural systems, materials, and construction methods – Proficiency in structural analysis and design software (e.g., ETABS, SAP2000, ROBOT) – Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex technical information – Excellent communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams – Familiarity with building codes, standards (e.g., Eurocodes, ASCE), and local regulations – Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work – Ability to work under pressure and meet tight project deadlines – Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or certification is required – Knowledge of sustainable design principles and experience with green building practices is preferred
