Job Description

InHire Ltd, a leading recruitment agency, is currently hiring for an experienced Quantity Surveyor role on behalf of our client, a renowned property developer in Central London. Job Summary: The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing cost estimates, monitoring project costs, and ensuring that the client’s financial interests are protected throughout the construction process. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with project teams.

Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates, bills of quantities, and tender documentation for construction projects. • Conduct value engineering and cost-control exercises to ensure projects are delivered within budget. • Evaluate and analyze tenders, negotiate with contractors, and make recommendations for the most suitable option. • Monitor project costs, track variations, and prepare interim valuations and final accounts. • Liaise with project managers, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure smooth project delivery. • Resolve commercial disputes and claims, if any, through negotiation and contractual procedures. • Ensure compliance with relevant construction legislation, regulations, and industry best practices. • Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and clients.

Requirements

• Minimum 4 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably working with main contractors on residential or commercial projects. • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. • Proficient in using cost estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and negotiation skills. • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to work effectively with project teams and stakeholders. • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. • Knowledge of construction contracts, legislation, and industry best practices.
