Job Description

Langfields is a leading engineering partner specializing in high-integrity products for sectors such as hydrogen, renewable energy, nuclear, and defense. The company operates multiple facilities across the UK and is seeking a Project Support Engineer to join their Dunfermline team. This role is ideal for candidates with a fabrication background, capable of reading technical drawings and managing procurement and planning processes.

Responsibilities

• Internal Collaboration: Build and maintain relationships with managers, engineers, supervisors, and QA/QC personnel to ensure materials and services are procured according to company and client requirements. • Supplier Management: Maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors to secure cost-effective purchases and ensure high service levels. • Procurement System Management: Oversee the procurement system, including collation of material take-offs (MTOs) from fabrication drawings and obtaining quotes from vendors. • Material Specification: Ensure materials are clearly defined, specified, and accompanied by the correct certification, meeting relevant codes and specifications. • Cost and Delivery Management: Arrange for the best price and delivery of materials to meet contract requirements. • Compliance and Certification: Ensure compliance with certification and testing requirements, expedite material deliveries, and maintain up-to-date information on contract costs. • Documentation: Compile and issue project-specific job packs, including job specifications, fabrication drawings, weld procedures, and other relevant documents. • Health, Safety, and Environment: Implement and review health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures, conduct risk assessments, and report on safety performance.

Requirements

• Experience: Relevant experience in purchasing, draughting, or project engineering, preferably within the fabrication sector. • Skills: Ability to read technical drawings, manage procurement processes, and work with various stakeholders. • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications or experience in a related field.

£90k-£100k
