Elevation Recruitment Group is partnering with Severfield, the leading specialist structural steelwork group in the UK, to find a skilled Pre-Construction Commercial Manager. This crucial role within Severfield’s Nuclear and Infrastructure division involves overseeing the pre-construction commercial aspects of high-value, critical projects. You will engage with high-profile clients in the defense, nuclear, and energy sectors, ensuring successful and profitable project outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Contract Management: • Review and negotiate construction contracts at the pre-construction stage. • Identify and address commercial risks in contracts. • Ensure warranties and bonds are secured to maintain cash flow. • Negotiate terms to maximize income and secure favorable contract positions. • Collaboration: • Work closely with estimation and sales teams. • Develop and maintain key relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors. • Collaborate with internal departments to provide practical legal support and ensure successful, profitable project wins.

Requirements

• Experience: o Substantial commercial management experience with a background in Quantity Surveying (QS) or estimation. o Strong experience with NEC contracts. o Proven track record of winning and managing pre-construction projects. • Skills: o Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and persuade. o Strong communication and customer-facing abilities. o Good understanding of the construction industry and its commercial aspects. Education • Relevant Degree Qualification: o Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. • Further Qualifications: o Professional membership (e.g., RICS) is advantageous.
