Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. In this critical role, you will ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across the organisation, providing expert advice and guidance to managers and employees. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with one of the largest housing associations in the North of England, managing over 38,000 homes. Responsibilities

• Assist the Occupational Health and Safety Manager in delivering specialised health and safety advice across the organisation. • Provide guidance on safe work practices, risk assessments, and COSHH-regulated substances. • Conduct site audits and inspections, supporting managers in ensuring a safe working environment. • Advise on display screen equipment (DSE) assessments and general safety practices. • Investigate accidents and incidents, offering guidance on corrective actions to prevent recurrence. • Promote a positive health and safety culture throughout the organisation. • Ensure compliance with health and safety policies, assisting departments in training and development to meet safety regulations. • Support in monitoring health surveillance to maintain a healthy workplace. • Build strong relationships with teams, contributing to a safe working environment for all.

Requirements

• Full, valid driving licence and access to a car. • Proven experience in occupational health and safety, offering guidance and support to managers and employees. • Strong knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, including risk assessments, audits, and safety inspections. • Experience in developing and delivering health and safety training programs. • Ability to investigate accidents and incidents, implementing preventive control measures. • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent Level 3 Qualification in Health & Safety). • Professional membership such as Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) – Technical Member (TechIOSH) or higher.
