A reputable consulting firm in London Job Description: Our client, a leading consulting firm in London, is seeking an experienced Cloud Architect to lead the design and implementation of cloud-based solutions for their clients. This role is critical in ensuring the successful migration and deployment of applications and workloads to the cloud, while maximizing performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.

Responsibilities

– Architect and design cloud-based solutions aligned with client requirements, business goals, and industry best practices – Evaluate and select appropriate cloud platforms, services, and tools based on project needs and constraints – Design and implement cloud infrastructure, including virtual networks, storage, compute resources, and security controls – Develop and implement strategies for cloud migration, including application modernization and refactoring – Ensure the security, reliability, and performance of cloud-based systems through proper architecture and configuration – Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and stakeholders, to ensure successful cloud implementation – Provide guidance and mentorship to team members on cloud architecture patterns and best practices – Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies, trends, and industry developments – Develop and maintain documentation, including architectural diagrams, design specifications, and deployment guidelines

Requirements

– Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) – Proven experience as a Cloud Architect or a similar role, with a deep understanding of cloud architecture principles and patterns – Hands-on experience with major cloud providers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and their services (e.g., EC2, EKS, S3, RDS, VPC) – Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices, including identity and access management, data encryption, and network security – Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architectures – Familiarity with DevOps practices, automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible), and continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines – Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills – Strong communication and collaboration abilities, with the ability to translate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders – Relevant cloud certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, GCP Professional Cloud Architect) are preferred
