Job Description

Equans Data Centers is seeking an MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing) Manager to join its growing team. This role will focus on overseeing the MEP aspects of large data center projects from start to finish, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, project timelines, and quality standards. As the MEP Manager, you will manage the entire lifecycle of MEP components on data center projects, working closely with teams to ensure successful project completion while adhering to company standards and policies.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with Health and Safety regulations and CDM requirements, producing necessary documentation for compliance. • Adhere to the company’s ISO standards and health and safety procedures. • Oversee the preparation and follow-up of method statements and risk assessments. • Participate in site progress meetings and project reviews to monitor progress and resolve any issues. • Manage project variations, interim applications for payment, and prepare monthly forecasts and Cost to Complete reports. • Support the Commercial Manager in negotiating final account agreements. • Maintain up-to-date project files, ensuring adherence to the company’s quality management procedures. • Collaborate with the estimating and sales team to address the technical and commercial aspects of the project. • Develop and maintain a detailed project program, ensuring timelines and dependencies are properly managed. • Oversee the procurement process, ensuring materials, equipment, and services are delivered cost-effectively. • Work with the design team to coordinate all design activities. • Monitor and evaluate subcontractor performance. • Prepare O&M Manuals and ensure the project is successfully handed over.

Requirements

• Experience working with a main contractor or large subcontractor. • Proven people management experience, with the ability to mentor and develop team members. • Strong technical knowledge of Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing Services. • Effective problem-solving skills. • Ability to meet deadlines and manage projects efficiently. • Strong attention to Health and Safety matters. • Commercial awareness with the ability to communicate effectively with clients. • A degree or equivalent in Electrical/Mechanical/Building Services Engineering. • Experience in data center project management (desirable).

£80k-£90k
