Job Description

Matalan is seeking an experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis. The developer will be responsible for developing, testing, and maintaining PL/SQL code and collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement and optimize Oracle database solutions.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Oracle PL/SQL code based on business requirements. • Design, implement, and optimize database structures, queries, and stored procedures. • Collaborate with software developers, business analysts, and database administrators to understand and translate requirements. • Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues (performance, integrity, defects). • Conduct unit testing and code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards. • Create and maintain technical documentation (database schemas, data dictionaries, design documents). • Stay updated on industry best practices and trends in Oracle PL/SQL development. • Participate in database performance analysis and optimization.

Requirements

• Strong background in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related fields. • Proven experience as an Oracle PL/SQL Developer with a deep understanding of Oracle database architecture and data modeling principles. • Proficient in writing complex SQL queries, stored procedures, triggers, and functions using PL/SQL. • Experience with performance tuning and query optimization techniques. • Familiarity with Oracle database tools (e.g., SQL Developer, Toad, PL/SQL Developer). • Knowledge of database design principles, relational database concepts, and normalization. • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills for debugging and resolving database issues. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills for effective collaboration. • Self-motivated and capable of independent work while also thriving in a team environment. • Strong attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
