Job Description

The Tyre Performance Engineer will play a crucial role in optimizing tyre performance for the Andretti Cadillac Team. This involves supporting the race team at events, developing and utilizing bespoke tools for tyre analysis, and contributing to the continuous improvement of processes both at the track and at the factory. The role also includes assisting with tyre testing and model correlation, and providing engineering support for future car development.

Responsibilities

• Tyre Performance Optimization: Support the race team with tyre performance and management during events, both trackside and from the factory. • Reporting: Complete mandatory tyre reporting on time and to a high standard. • Tool Development: Assist in the development of tools, methods, and infrastructure for tyre performance analysis. • Process Improvement: Continuously improve operational processes at both the track and the factory. • Testing and Correlation: Assist with tyre testing activities and tyre model correlation. • Future Performance: Analyze and forecast expected tyre performance and behavior for future seasons.

Requirements

• Technical Knowledge: Strong understanding of physics and mathematics related to high-performance vehicles. • Data Analysis: Experience with data analysis, including cleaning, transformation, and visualization using Python, R, or similar tools. • Presentation Skills: Excellent presentation skills, with the ability to clearly convey complex information to diverse audiences. • Problem-Solving: Strong critical thinking and creative problem-solving skills. • Interpersonal Skills: Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive contribution to an open and inclusive culture. • Motorsports Experience: High-level experience in tyre performance, especially with Pirelli tyres, is highly valued but not required. • Work Under Pressure: Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with minimal errors. • Integrity: Honesty, transparency, and integrity in all aspects of work.
