Job Description

A prominent construction firm in London Job Description: We are hiring an experienced MEP Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and implementation of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for our commercial and residential projects in London. This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and sustainable operation of building systems while adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Responsibilities

– Design and develop MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems, for new construction and renovation projects – Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure the integration of MEP systems into the overall building design – Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing conditions and identify potential challenges or opportunities for system improvement – Prepare detailed MEP drawings, specifications, and technical reports using AutoCAD and BIM software (e.g., Revit) – Perform load calculations, energy simulations, and system sizing to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency – Ensure compliance with building codes, standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA), and local regulations – Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and project teams during the construction phase to resolve technical issues and ensure proper system installation – Conduct commissioning and testing of MEP systems to verify proper operation and performance – Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in the MEP industry

Requirements

– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) – Proven experience as an MEP Engineer or a similar role in the construction industry – Strong understanding of MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems – Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design and modeling software – Knowledge of building codes, standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA), and local regulations – Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills – Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams – Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work – Familiarity with sustainable design principles and energy-efficient building practices is preferred – Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or certification is a plus
