– Design and develop MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems, for new construction and renovation projects
– Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and other disciplines to ensure the integration of MEP systems into the overall building design
– Conduct site visits and inspections to assess existing conditions and identify potential challenges or opportunities for system improvement
– Prepare detailed MEP drawings, specifications, and technical reports using AutoCAD and BIM software (e.g., Revit)
– Perform load calculations, energy simulations, and system sizing to ensure optimal performance and energy efficiency
– Ensure compliance with building codes, standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA), and local regulations
– Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and project teams during the construction phase to resolve technical issues and ensure proper system installation
– Conduct commissioning and testing of MEP systems to verify proper operation and performance
– Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, trends, and best practices in the MEP industry
– Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
– Proven experience as an MEP Engineer or a similar role in the construction industry
– Strong understanding of MEP systems, including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and electrical systems
– Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other relevant design and modeling software
– Knowledge of building codes, standards (e.g., ASHRAE, NFPA), and local regulations
– Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
– Strong communication and collaboration abilities to work effectively with cross-functional teams
– Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
– Familiarity with sustainable design principles and energy-efficient building practices is preferred
– Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or certification is a plus
