Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Construction Programme Manager to manage a range of capital construction projects across the commercial office portfolio of a client. This role will suit a specialist in fit-out projects, particularly CAT A and CAT B fit-outs of commercial office spaces. As the Construction Programme Manager (client-side), you will be responsible for leading and executing a variety of refresh, refurbishment, and new construction projects. A key aspect of the role is ensuring that all works are managed in compliance with the Construction Design Management (CDM) Regulations 2023.

Responsibilities

• Manage capital construction projects: Oversee the planning, execution, and quality management of both refurbishment and new construction projects, with a focus on commercial office fit-outs. • CDM 2023 Compliance: Ensure that all obligations are discharged under the latest Construction Design Management Regulations. • Client-side project management: Manage notifiable works from a client perspective, ensuring that all projects are executed efficiently. • Budget management and control: Handle financial planning and control of projects. • Risk and conflict management: Navigate project risks and resolve conflicts efficiently. • Contractor management: Lead and manage contractors, ensuring they meet high standards of service delivery.

Requirements

• Preferably chartered builder, building surveyor, or project manager with significant construction experience. • Strong experience in fit-out/refurbishment projects, including project planning, lease negotiation, and quality control. • Experience in managing licence to alter (LtA) and Wayleave applications. • In-depth knowledge of H&S legislation and FM best practices. • Proven ability to combine a strategic outlook with hands-on project management skills. • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence decisions across the business. • Strong contract management skills and experience managing outsourced contractors. • Excellent organisational, time management, and prioritization skills.
